Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Benchmarked - 4K

4K, or 4K UHD (Ultra HD) as it is more technically known, has the equivalent number of pixels as four 1080p screens. This makes it fantastic for detailed design work, for example, but gaming at this resolution requires serious horsepower - even the best GPUs today struggle, and more often than not you'll need more than one of them to achieve smooth frame rates at high detail settings.


If you're one of the few people gaming on a 4K screen, the price of a graphics card isn't likely to be of huge concern. Even so, there's not a single card on the market at the moment capable of sustaining 30fps. The Pascal-equipped Titan X does hit a minimum of 28fps, so with some overclocking it probably can handle it, but for really smooth frame rates you're undoubtedly going to need two top-end cards.



The situation doesn't really change at 'Very High' or 'High' either. Yes, the heavily overclocked GTX 1080 we're using does hit a 25fps minimum, passing the 'technically playable' test, but realistically you're going to want more from your setup. With some serious overclocking, a GTX 1080 might be up to the task at 'High', but your only other option right now is still the new Titan X.


At 'Medium', the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X hits a respectable minimum of 25fps, while the GTX 1080 and Titan X are both now firmly in the playable territory. AMD simply doesn't have any single card for playing this game at such a high resolution, however.
